Welcome to the website of the Polish NGO Network for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage.
If you care about cultural heritage protection, you’ve come to the right place.
The website was initiated by the European Historical Monument Protection Foundation (EFOZ – Europejska Fundacja Ochrony Zabytków) as part of a project titled Enhancing NGO Participation in Shaping Cross-border Cultural Heritage Conservation Policies. The project was based on creating a network of partnerships and strategies with support tools, including a website for NGOs in Poland, with participation from NGOs from Germany and Poland’s/EU’s eastern neighbours. Our aim is to improve the quality of cross-border initiatives, facilitate communication between NGOs in the entire project-covered area and support the activation of local communities. The project included a review of the special needs of NGOs in each participating country, a study visit and a Founding Forum; the Forum’s conclusions have been used to develop this website as support to the newly fledged network. The results of the project can be shown in two time horizons. The short-term result is primarily the website and the new NGO cooperation network. In the long term, the project will have a positive impact on the transfer of knowledge and experience among the members of the NGO network, which is growing in size and stimulating the local communities to be active in the conservation and revitalisation of cultural heritage in Poland and in the East, to do it with greater fluency and at a lower cost. In the longer horizon, the network can be extended to cover more countries of Europe.
We are looking forward to your ideas, active contribution and involvement in preserving and protecting our common cultural heritage!
